For all the Love in the World

I’m a sucker for love. Love stories make me go weak at the knees and my heart melt like butter on toast and then I eat that buttered love toast, because not only can I feel the love, but I can consume it too. I love love stories because it means there is happiness and hope and what more could you ask for?

I’ve been known to not so secretly look at wedding albums online and smile, ask people how they’ve met their other half and imagined being swept off my feet. The joy and passion emanating from pictures and stories fills my heart with joy. Joy that others have found their hunny bunny, babe, sweetheart, cutie pie face, sex on a stick, or hunka hunka burnin’ love.

What’s more amazing and pulls on the heart strings is that New Zealand has passed the Marriage Equality Bill in parliament this week. How awesome is it to know that if you have a deep mutual love and understanding of the one that you’re with, you can go ahead and get married.

True love isn’t subjective and judgmental in its natural state, it just is. And let’s be honest, the world could do with some more love. I hope that this bill brings more understanding and compassion of one another as people, instead of the negative rifts being born through divided comments online. Let’s look at the bigger picture and celebrate love in every shape and form, because it is so beautiful and positively heart-warming.

Now, back to the wedding album perusing…
